Do all Magellan have same receiver?

I know there are significant differences between models in memory, SD capabilty, screen color, batteries, etc, but are the basic receiver and processer the same. Will I get the same accuracy and precision out of 210 that I'd get out of 500 ?

All the current handhelds (explorists) appear to use the 14 channel Mars Trufix receiver circuit. So answer to your question is "yes". See the FAQs below for more info.

"Cables/Cabling

 

Are the serial/power cables for all units mechanically identical?

 

Almost. The head on the cables for the SporTrak and Meridian families are identical. The housing of the 330 (and 315 and predecessors not covered by this FAQ) has a flat back while the newer models have a curve to them. The pinouts are the same and it's possible, if you're patient enough, to use the cable from one family on the other if you bend the "fingers" on the cable out to increase their reach a little."

 

are you sure of the models with the curved and flat rear housing? i think you have it reversed.

Thanks, thats what I thought but sometimes vendors marketing info can leave out pertinent details.
