Email: Your waymark has been approved

Recommended Posts

Sometimes when I approve a waymark, I include a message asking that the waymarker make some minor change in the waymark. Admittedly, I don't check up on the results very diligently, but I wonder if people always read these messages. With mine, I usually don't even open them, because there's almost always no message in them. So, for both sides of the coin, the situation makes me think of a suggestion.

The suggestion: Make 2 varieties of the email subject:

1. Your waymark has been approved

2. Your waymark has been approved, with a message

Then you'll know that the approver wrote something in the box for you to read.

Now I know, having both sent and recived them, that many messages are just "Good one!" or some such thing. Perhaps if there was a box to checkmark only if the approver was writing an important message to read, then the subject style 2 would be sent.

i open the messages, to use the links to log my visit.

it would be nice to know if there was a message attached (i fix the errors, if i know how), but there are some who say 'thanks for submitting this mark'. so then there should be three messages.

then, the beginning of the message needs to be different--as with longer subjects, the end is often cut off in the 'inbox'. how about:

-your waymark has been approved

-a message has been attached to your approved waymark

-your approved waymark needs minor edits
