+clemsonbeav
Is there a way to search for geocaches and have archived caches included? (Or, is there a way to see any geocache that has ever been in an area?) Link to comment

+WildGooseChase
Use the Geocaching.com Maps. There is an option to "List Archived/Disabled Caches" Link to comment
+Jamie Z
No direct way to search for archived caches. Probably the best way to do what you're asking is to use the "old" geocaching maps, those klunky maps that we had before the slick Google Geocaching maps. The link to the old maps is still there. Using the old maps, you can have it display archived caches. That way, you just have to search around the area of interest and see if there used to be any caches there. Or.. if you have a good reason, and this is a one-time deal, you might talk a friendly reviewer into checking an area for you. Reviewers have access to archived caches. Jamie Link to comment
