Underwater Cache

I have decided to begin hiding a few caches and would like to get some feedback on this idea. I know this is not a new idea, but would like to get some pros and cons from anyone that has tried this. With there being plenty of lakes and rivers here in Florida, I was looking at placing an underwater cache. The obvious thing would be keeping it waterproof and I have looked and there are some waterproof type bags/containers. The other thing would be, the cache would be retrievable from a dry location.

There is one in my area that I have not made it to yet. It has been there for some time and the owners might have some advice for you.

 

All that I can really offer is to look at how they designed their cache and look at the suggestions they posted.

You could make a tablet/slate the log and leave a grease pen tied to it.

Underwater caches start off great but often they accumulate weed and algae and can become unpleasant to open.

I'm playing with the idea of a night stalker multi where 1 set of coordinates are underwater. How do firetacks show up in ten to 20 feet of water at night? Swizzle
