+icefall5 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 When you place a cache, do you like to go out and find a spot, prepare your cache, then place it, or just prepare your cache and hope you can find somewhere? I usually do the second. But my main question is this: How do you go about placing a cache? Quote
b1rdbrain Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I have done both my first cache Reseda Pepper Tree Cache was thought out ofr about 2 days and then my other 2 caches i had a super micro made up and said this would make a great plae to hide a cache. I'm Still thinking about my "44 Minutes Cache" (I don't know if I'm going to do it) but i am planning it and researching all i can about the North Hollywood Shootout. so i have done Both. Quote
+NorthWes Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I either place at a favorite spot of mine found during prior hikes, or scout likely areas / parks using the Terraserver map program and then reconnoiter on the ground. Although I keep replacements for microcaches I own in the cachemobile, I've never impulse-placed a cache. Quote
+icefall5 Posted August 20, 2006 Author Posted August 20, 2006 I only ever have impulsed a cache. I just say, hey, I feel like placing one today, and ride around my neighborhood and find a spot to hide it. Quote
+TheAlabamaRambler Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I've done both, though mostly I have a cache and go looking for a good place to hide it. Sometimes a place just gets your attention, though, and you know it's right for a cache. Then you have to go home (or to a store) and figure out what kind of cache should go there. Ed Quote
Earleheart° Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I think you should find the place first and make it a good one. lOl Quote
