I'm thinking about buying a Garmen eTrex Venture cx dose any one know if it is a good choice

I concur and will add, it is the best value among Garmin's handheld units.

 

Just remember, it doesn't come with a memory card or s USB cable. However, you can purchase better and more affordable quality cards than what Garmin offers, and chances are you already have a USB cable if you have a digital camera or card reader.

I too concur! I did a lot of research (as most do) before making the purchase. This past week I ordered the Venture Cx and am trusting that as I type this it is speeding towards me through postal land. As near as I can figure, it is the best value for a unit with autorouting capability. I'm giddy with excitement!

Nothing, and that's the point. That's what makes the Venture a great value. The Vista gets the barometer and compass features, but the Legend and Venture are exactly the same (I think they're different colors; Venture=yellow, Legend=blue, I think) function for function. It's the accessories that come in the package that differentiate the Venture and Legend.
