This is a copy of the Basemap that works with all Garmin Map model and MapSource.

I have this map on my 60csx. It works OK, apart from a display problem which makes certain coastlines disappear when you zoom in:

Sorry to bother you but from here it is not working at all. I don't have any popups either. It just says:

 

The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

 

I am using IE... Is that a problem? Of course, all other web sites work OK.

 

Maybe you can post the file(s) somewhere else? or send it to me in a mail?

Copy the files to a suitable folder

Make sure the reg file points to correct folder.

Dobbel click the reg file to install it.

Use Mapsource to select tha map as other map and transfer to GPS.

 

This is standard for installing custom maps to MapSource

I was able to do this until I tried to install the reg file in that in the Garmin folder and doing this I seemed to have messed up the map source reg file and had to re-isntall mapsource and all my maps.

If the reg screws up, you DO NOT have to re-install all of Mapsource.

 

1) Run "regedit".

 

2) Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Garmin\MapSource\Products\

 

3) Delete the key associated with the new map software "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\MapSource\Products\50" or better yet change the directory references to match the correct locations of the downloaded files. The files should be placed in "c:\garmin\basemap" with the default registry settings.

 

BTW, this is a copyrighted Garmin map so use at your discretion.

Wow. Thanks Jotne! I have relatives in Europe but live in Canada and have a North Americanized Garmin - this will come in handy.
