Which is more detailed?

I do a lot of backpacking and camping in NC/SC looking for geocaches. Whic map CD is more detailed with trails and campsites, etc; US Topo 24 National Parks or Topo?

Topo 24K NP is only detailed IN the National Parks.....NOT detailed outside the parks. So the "regular" Topo is probably your best bet....unless you only camp inside the Natl Parks.

I don't own the 24K Topo, but intuitively I would think that 24k would be more detailed than US Topo. US Topo is based on USGS 1:100,000 topo maps, whereas 24K is based on USGS 1:24,000 topo maps.

 

If, however, you are going to an area not covered by the 24K product, then your only option is US Topo.
