Home Coordinates

I wish that when I went into Advance Searches from the Geocaching home page, that there was an additional choice in the By Type drop down menu. I would like to search “By Home Coordinates” in addition to “By Coordinates.”

I live, work, and travel full time in my RV. I’m always changing my Home Coordinates in my profile to my new location.

I think after updating my profile with my new coordinates, it would make sense to be able to refer to them on the Advanced Search build screen instead of having to retype them again.

Continuing that logic, wouldn't it also make sense if an option to search by Home Coordinates stored in the profile was included on the Pocket Queries build screen?

Santa, are you really out there? :)

Been asked a few times, and there are work-arounds. But nothing has been implemented yet.

Jeremy has hinted that the coding that allows multiple home coordinates at Waymarking.com will eventually be integrated into the GC.com site. Until that time comes, here's some work-arounds.

Kluge Work around 1:

Search by coordinates from the advanced page, get the results, bookmark the results in your browser and label it "Home 1 search", then repeat as necessary for as many "homes" as you have.

Kluge Work around 2:

Submit a dummy cache and uncheck the box next to "Yes, this listing is active (For new listings, if you want to work on this listing before it is reviewed, uncheck this box. Reviewers will only see the listing in the queue when it is checked.)" Use your home coordinates as coordinates for the page. Then you've got a waypoint code that can act as a center instead of the home coordinates.

What's wrong with using the link on My Account that says somthing like:

Search for nearest caches from your home coordinates (filter out finds)?

For PQ's, use the closest cache as your center point.
