+TheRoundings
The 360 is definitely not cheap, but I'm very happy with mine - price wasn't my primary factor. I did a lot of research before buying mine and decided it was the one I wanted for many reasons: TTS with road names Small size Good firmware support Bluetooth handsfree The main contender that came very close was the TomTom 910 but the size, weight and reported mount problems put me off. kb9nvh
Too late, you already bought maps for your 60csx..LOL BTW, I think that one does make breakfast for you... I was looking at this GPS - and it does everything except make me breakfast... But is it worth 800 bucks iyho? Quote Link to comment

+BigMahma
Yah - I got a new cache card and maps for the 60CSx - Also the nuvi looks like i'm gonna break the dadgum thing - plus I use it for offroad motorcycles in state parks... Not sure if the Nuvi is as fall/ground/water/sweat/heat friendly as the 60CSx. I even looked at the 72csx and the 60 is more rugged - has a bigger screen - and is a bit more macho imho. I think i made the right choice - and I can spend the 400 bucks on making new caches. Thank you all for your help BigMahma Edited July 22, 2006 by BigMahma Quote Link to comment
+donbadabon
How can you load caches into the Nuvi? Can you use the GPXtoMaplet program and convert your GPX's on the SD card? Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
You don't have to use GPXtoanything; Nuvi will read GPX files directly. You can actually copy a PQ straight to these things and go. Even though it's not really GSAK specific, see my explanation in a related board http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=...ost&p=14730 Quote Link to comment

Thanks for the link et al Robert! Will the 60CSx eat a .GPX file directly from a pocket query too? That'd be pretty useful in the event of a laptop failure where you have to make do with a borrowed computer. Quote Link to comment

(I don't know if zumo does it or not, but since it's not shipping yet, that's OK.) GPSBabel fits trivially on a memory key and has an easy-to-remember web address when you're in a pinch to refill a 60CSx. GSAK won't run from a memory key, IIRC, but if you can install software the borrowed computer, remember that it will run in free mode. So if you can run arbitrary software, you do have options. Wow, that is cool! Thanks for the info. Waiting on my Nuvi to arrive from Amazon now. Quote Link to comment

Very true. Another option you got me thinking about: you can put GSAK or GPSbabel on the microSD card that resides in your GPS and effectively use it as a flash drive on any USB equipped computer. The GPSr should just ignore anything not in the Garmin directory. Quote Link to comment
