CO Admin
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write. I am sorry but we are unable to make any changes to usernames. You are welcome to create a new name and relog your finds on the new account. If you have any hides you can transfer them to your new account with this link. http://www.geocaching.com/adopt/ Link to comment
Prime Suspect
Is it possible to change my username and not lose my finds? No. You can't change your user name. If you want a different one, you'll have to create a new account, and re-log any finds you have, and transfer any caches you own. Link to comment
StarBrand
If you start a new account - just re-log all your finds under the new name. A real pain if there are very many but others have done that. Link to comment
FamilyDNA
Maybe when new accounts are created and IDs are chosen there should be a tag line saying "You will not be able to change this later." Link to comment
Markwell
WARNING!!! When you set up your user name, it will have to stay that way. The only way it can be changed is to create a whole new account and transfer everything you own to the new account and relog all of your finds. So choose your name wisely. That's why I chose something simple - like my last name. Not likely to change. Edited July 19, 2006 by Markwell Link to comment
The Leprechauns
Some members have not reacted positively to the recent lockdown of usernames: 2006-05-18 by Tourette Sector C (293 found) Barkie and I tried to change one word in our team name to more accurately reflect the way things usually go for us while caching &$)#@!!!. Groundspeak refused to change our name...LAME, so I have to post all 284 of our team finds again to a new account. Sorry to all of you that have to read these posts that allow us to get around the GeoBureaucracy. TFTC Link to comment
