+av8tors32
I am looking for a cache in Pennsylvania that requires a canoe or a kayak to reach. Thoughts??? Inside a DCNR park is a bonus. Quote Link to comment
+avalance
Here is one at Ricketts Glen State Park that seems popular with most cachers. Plus there are many other caches in the park. When I went to it, the cache was filled with garbage and sitting out in the open. I did enjoy the kayak ride out. This cache also seems to be muggled quite often with many TBs missing from the island. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...dc-3017fc158e46 Here is one on State Game Lands 237 on the Susquehanna River near Wysox. I have never done this one, but I would like to someday. However, it might be gone due to recent flooding. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...11-42adb46a20c1 Good Luck Quote Link to comment
+av8tors32
The Ricketts Island Cache is exactly what I was looking for. Anyone know of any more kayak/canoe caches in PA? Quote Link to comment

bogleman
Will this do? I tried in a row boat, wife & 3 kids. My hands still hurt. Quote Link to comment
+whistler & co.
This one might be a good one for you: The Riches of Kipp Island It's located on an island in Lake Wallenpaupack. Plus, I don't believe you guys have found our Rusty Bridge cache yet, so you can hit that on the way over to Hawley! Quote Link to comment
ImpalaBob
There are around 6 on the Schuykill river between Pottstown and Phoenixville. I'd advise you to plan your trip and check on when the last find was had on any river caches as this Summer has brought terrential rains. Responsible owners have either checked their caches or disabled them. There is quite a lot of new debris along the rivers .... and access points to the caches may be blocked. If you want to do the Schuykill river caches I mentioned E-mail me for more details. I can direct you to the correct put-ins and take-outs. We kayak also!!!! ImpalaBob Quote Link to comment
+JegMag
We own four of those caches on the Schuylkill that ImpalaBob referred to. We are planning to get out to chech them this week. We have at least one other ready to place -- stay tuned! Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
In Western PA, in addition to those already listed, there is Canoe Cache and Canoe Cache #2, both by Squatting Bear. These are located on a State Gamelands. Caches like these make me sad that I lost the canoe in the divorce settlement. But hey, I have the freedom to go geocaching without having to get permission from a non-caching spouse, so I s'pose I came out ahead! Someone should take the caches listed in this thread and make them into a "PA hydrocaches" shared bookmark list. Edited July 19, 2006 by The Leprechauns Quote Link to comment
+fox-and-the-hound
Just stumbled on this now, but can't believe my luck! We were just talking about going camping/canoeing this weekend so this might be perfect Quote Link to comment
+PeachyPA
This one does not indicate that a boat/kayak is necessary to retrieve it, but it might be helpful if the water level is higher than one wants to wade through. Also on the Clarion River, this one is in Forest County. No Man Is An Island Quote Link to comment

+whistler & co.
Here are two hydrocaches in the northeastern part of the state (Great Bend): How Old Am I and Bridge???? I wouldn't make any big plans to visit these until the cache owner verifies that they still exist after all the recent flooding. Great Bend and Hallstead were particularly hard hit. +H2OBob
I was FTF on this one. It's a three part multi. A great cache, well executed, with good swag. On the Allegheny, just above Franklin. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...69-20223ebed4da Quote Link to comment
