Some more information, please. What program are you using? Serial cable or SD card reader? If serial cable, did you set the baud rate? Is there anything else using your COM port? Tell us exactly what you are trying to do and what steps you've tried so far. For example, are you trying to download waypoints from your merigold to mapsend topo on your pc? Here's something that might help http://gpsinformation.net/MeridianFAQv2_0.pdf cliff_hanger Quote Link to comment

+Kit Fox
From the sounds of it, you're trying to download cache waypoints as GPX or Loc files. Am I correct? You need a program like Geocaching Swiss Army Knife to convert these files into a format that the Magellan recognizes. I have the same GPS as use, and I use GSAK to export waypoints, to my GPS. Good Luck. Edited July 12, 2006 by Kit Fox Quote Link to comment

You still have not told us EXACTLY what you are trying to do. And you still have not told us what program you are trying to use. But, it sounds like you are trying to d/l cache waypoints from geocaching.com and load them into your merigold. If this is not correct, you are going to ask your question more specifically. And give exact details. Your merigold does not understand what a .gpx or .loc is. You cannot load .loc or .gpx files directly from geocaching.com into your merigold. You CAN save the .loc or .gpx file from geocaching.com onto your pc and use one of these programs to translate and upload the points to your merigold via serial cable or (with GPSBabel) to your SDcard by card reader. cliff_hanger
i use easy gps For what? Quote Link to comment
cliff_hanger
i use easy gps Connect your Merigold to your pc. On your Merigold do Menu > setup > enter > Baud Rate > enter > 4800 > enter On Easy GPS do Edit > Preferences > My GPS Receivers > Add GPS > Magellan > Meridian Gold > OK > COM1 > Speed 4800 > OK > OK Then, in Easy GPS do GPS > Receive from GPS. Other baud rates may work also. But the buad rate setting for the Merigold has to match the setting in EasyGPS. cliff_hanger Quote Link to comment
