+dw
In February of 2005, I was ftf on a cache that was listed on a different listing service. Since that service hardly gets any hits, I was pretty much the only finder, and a month later the owner converted it to a gc.com cache. The gc.com ftf was confused, as I had already signed the log, so I posted a note saying I had previously found it but wouldn't log it on gc.com. Now I'm approaching my 1000th find and it's bugging me, I want my numbers to be accurate. Did I find this one or not? It's deep in a trail with plenty of ticks and poison oak and brambles, so I'm not too eager to go find it again just to rewrite my name on the very same logsheet. Okay, almighty geocaching community, is this a smiley or not? Quote Link to comment
+AuntieWeasel
dw, I don't know. But you're a man (or woman) of conscience. Blezz you. Quote Link to comment
+Morgan's Marauders
so I posted a note saying I had previously found it but wouldn't log it on gc.com. ................ Okay, almighty geocaching community, is this a smiley or not? Sounds like you already decided it wasn't. Just go grab a Wally World lampost cache to make up for it. You'll probably feel better that way.... JMHO.... Quote Link to comment
Flying Spaghetti Monster
If you signed the log, why not post the find here and backdate it? This is just a LISTING service - you did find the cache. Quote Link to comment
+Team Torque
You found the cache and signed the log. I say that is a . I also think it is great that you care enough to look for guidance. Quote Link to comment
+FamilyDNA
I say it's great you let the other guy have the FTF, since he was the first finder on the new listing. But, you did find the cache. Take the smiley. Have you asked an opinion fron the cache owner? Quote Link to comment
+IV_Warrior
If the onwer of the cache didn't make any changes to the cache, and just listed it here also, log it here. You found the cache, log it on as many listing sites as it's listed on, if you wish. Quote Link to comment
+Team Cotati
Why would you want to ask the cache owner? Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
You found the cache and it's now listed here, so why not log it here? I guess you could go back again, but that would be silly. If they were listed on both sites on the same day would it make a difference? Quote Link to comment
+TrailGators
You found it! Log it as a beta-tester since you signed it before the "official" FTF! Quote Link to comment
+dw
Okay! I contacted the cache owner and got his blessing, so I'm logging it. Thanks for everyone's input! Quote Link to comment

I concur with the above wholeheartedly! Backdate your log with a clear conscience, and grab that Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I have some caches that I listed here and later cross listed on another site. A number of people who found my cache via this site's listing, logged their finds on the other site too once I listed them there. I didn't for a moment think there was anything wrong with that. Its still a find. Just log it to the date you visited. Quote Link to comment
