+DresselDragons
When I was younger, my dad belong to a coin collecting club (I guess I can blame my addiction on heredity). He gave a necklace with a coin in it. It had a small piece of metal that wrapped around the outside ridge of the coin, and a small decorative piece screwed it shut on the top, and had an o-ring in it, so you could add it to a chain (necklace, keychain, etc). Through what limited research I've done on the internet, I believe these pieces are called "bezels". I would LOVE to get one for our coin, so I could wear it to events for folks to log. Unfortunately, the ones I've come across are too small for our coin (1.75"). Does anyone know where I can find such an item in a usable size (besides that e place...I've already looked there)? I would think that this might be a good accessory for some of the coin distributors to sell. Quote Link to comment
+Crowesfeat30
If you know a jeweler they can make one of those for you; no problem! Just show them what you have in mind. The only issue then would be how much you'd want to spend. CF30 Quote Link to comment

ParentsofSAM
I think it was FlyinV that had their coin in such a thing.....a keychain or something. There is a thread about it somewhere...... EDIT: Here is link to the thread. Here is a link to a keychain. Edited July 3, 2006 by ParentsofSAM Quote Link to comment
+DresselDragons
That's exactly what I am looking for...but in a bigger diameter. Quote Link to comment
+marylandgeocacher
I am not sure of the size. But there are many sources on e-bay for different devices to hold/show a casino chip. If your coin is the size of a casino chip you might try e-bay. There is also the chance those vendors have the bezels in different sizes, a personal communication to one of them might solve your problem. Quote Link to comment

+whitebear
If you check local Rockhound/lapidary stores they usually stock a good selection of bezels. Quote Link to comment

My dad is a jeweler and I learned how to do lots of wire wrapping growing up. With the materials I could make these pretty easily! Edited February 5, 2007 by UOTrackers Quote Link to comment

thespongefactor
that coin wrapping wire is a great idea. Quote Link to comment
+Nero
I like the idea. I have one i've had for years that has a half dollar in it. I think a keychain one would be cool for a geocoin, but I think a necklace would probably be a bit heavy. depending on the coin of course. Quote Link to comment
+Fluttershy
I was going to Go uptown to the Jewelry District to get a Bezel a few weeks ago, for my TGF coin... Jolene (crazycavelover) & I were going to wear ours together. But, I found out this week because of work, I'm unable to attend. Quote Link to comment
+Landsharkz
I think a keychain one would be cool for a geocoin...... My mother had Chris drill a hole right through one of the original 2006 BC Geocoins that we gave her and it is now on her keyring! When she meets geocachers they can 'discover' her keys!
