Can anybody tell me what the preinstalled blue chart does all I can find is the tide station there has to be more to it than that I hope.

from what i have seen so far on my 76csx there are general navigational aids for navigable waters with the base software. these aids show up at a fairly close viewing level on the GPSr.

There are no preinstalled Bluechart on any Garmin GPS.

The only map on your GPS is a Basemap, that covers mayor rouads/higway in either Europe or US.

 

You have to order Bluechart.

I assume he means BlueCharts pre-intalled on a chip. You get detailed maps of harbors, bathymetric seafloor charts, underwater obstructions, and other marine features. Worth the cost if you will be using the 76CSx as a primary navigation tool at sea. Less so if unit is backing up a genuine chart plotter.

what is and where to you find marine point database ??,I have found the tide data

The marine point database is not the same thing as Bluechart. Marine points will be listed as waypoints on your unit.
