cgeek Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I think that a useful feature to add would be to add the MAP IT link to the page that shows the results of a pocket query. This could be after you create the query and then "run the search" or after when you click PREVIEW on the query list page. I ran a query for 1.5/1.5 caches in a particular town I am about to visit so I could grab a few quick caches. The problem I ran into was that after I got the list, it is not sorted by distance. I know I could take the downloaded file, bring it into a program like MapSource and see where they are but it sure would be nice to have that option right there online. Does anyone else think this would be a useful feature?
cgeek Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 Ok, so I see that they have added a "View in GoogleMap" feature on the query list page. That will definitely be nice but I still think the MAP IT link would be good to have on those other pages..
Miragee Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I get my PQs and put them right into GSAK. Then I filter using that program and Export the results to my Mapsource maps. With my slow Internet connection, it is faster for me to do those things off line. Once I have the caches I want in GSAK, or in Mapsource, I send them to my GPSr and I'm out the door.
alexrudd Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Wow - that's the fastest I've seen something implemented! (Check your PQ's page - it works great!)
Raine Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 It was already in the works It would be better to just click the map-it icon instead of "previewing" it first then mapping it as it has to run the PQ twice to generate the results for both views. -Raine
