Group Officer?

The role of an officer varies somewhat from group to group (and even within a given group), but generally speaking, the primarily role of most officers is to review submitted waymarks and Accept or Decline them, as appropriate.

 

Assuming you are interested in being an officer, the most important thing you can do is familiarize yourself with the specific requirements for creating waymarks in your category. When a new waymark is submitted, you (along with the other officers) will receive an email. When you click on the link in the email, you'll be taken to a page that allows you to review the waymark submittal, and you can approve or decline the waymark depending on whether or not it meets the stated requirements.

 

I notice that currently the Mormon Temples category is set to "Auto Approve", which means that you won't really need to participate in the approval process (all submitted waymarks in the category will be automatically approved). If the group leader (showbizkid), turns Auto Approve off, then you and the other officers will have to do the approvals manually.
