"software Missing" 60csx- I'm About To Panic

I just attempted to update my 60CSx to version 2.9. I have been successful with the web updater before, but tonight the program stopped after erasing. The software started loading then it stopped with 28 seconds to go and started to beep and gave message on unit "software missing" How do I reload the software??

maybe you tried this, but try running the webupdater again. I heard someone else had that problem and running the webupdater again re-installed the software.

The webupdater will find and ID the unit but the program does not run to find the updates. I have uninstalled the updater and reinstalled it. Same results.

I would try manually installing the firmware, if that don't work I would call garmin.

happened to me once with my csx. I went right to garmins web page and downloaded it. It installed right away and started working again. What a relief.

A big thanks to both of you for the help. The manual update has it working again AND with V. 2.9.

Don't know why the webupdater didn't work this time. Thanks to you I'll be able to go caching this weekend after all!

OK ... Now I have updated the webupdater and It is working fine. I used it to upgrade the sw from 2.4 to 2.6. Now I get another satellite (48) and have a bunch of little "D's" on the bars. I'm pretty sure this is good and the unit is now better than ever! Thanks again for the help.

I think I would run the webupdater again to get the aditional software(2.60 gps software). it fixes issues some people were having with waas. you can check your gps software version at main menu, setup, system, press menu key and select software version. you should see 2.90 software version and 2.60 gps sw version.

 

 

I see your post above that you updated to 2.60, we must have posted at the same time, disregard. LOL

if you download the ximage program from garmin you can take screen shots of whats on the gps screen. you can also use it to load your own set of custom waypoint icons.
