+y0mbo Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I was at a local park looking for a microcache the other day. As I was looking around, I happened to see a small piece of plastic on the ground in the general vicinity. I went to pick it up thinking it was trash, but it turns out to be the cache itself. Not knowing where it was supposed to be, I rehid the cache in the best spot I could find at the same coordinates. Now I'm not so sure that was the right thing to do. Is there a proper procedure for this sort of thing? Quote

+alexrudd Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 As long as it wasn't clearly supposed to be there (for instance, there's a cache in our area called "recycle" that looks like a piece of trash), that's great! You probably helped the cache avoid being muggled. Just make sure to tell the hider where you put it. Quote
+humanloofa Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I agree with the previous two. The worst thing that can happen is the owner tells you that was were it was suppose to be and calls you an idiot for relocating the cache. I would probably have done what you did. Quote
