+two left feet
I have about had it with GE. Anyone else? It locks up and even Task Manager can't stop it. It shuts down randomly on one machine. The beta version is really buggy. At times it just quits updating the detail even though the streaming shows it to be getting data. I have really good machines including IBM and Dell that are well maintained and have no problems with any other application. Running XP home and XP pro. GE has different problems on each PC. I don't dare run it without launching Task Manager first. I was using it to plan my outings, but after getting Streets and Trips running with caches imported as pushpins. I think I will just use that. Quote Link to comment
f5fstop
Can you go back to the non-beta level? I have used my extensively over the past few days, and there have been no problems. Quote Link to comment

I'm running Windows XP Pro Version 2002, Service Pace 2 and using DSL Pro. I routinely check and clean my computer of adware and pop-ups and run virus scans periodically. Could maybe you have infestations? I'm also running the Windows firewall and a hardware firewall on my router. The security settings are set high and I don't let cookies on my machine unless I permit them on. I just visited my sister and her machine was totally screwed up. I did a scan using Spybot Search & Destroy and found and removed 140 high risk objects. Her computer is now ruinning great. Also had to run a program to clean up the registery. Quote Link to comment
+hogrod
I also have had no problems with google earth, but have seen some strange behaviour when I use it on a slower internet connection when I'm not at home.(laptop with wifi) Quote Link to comment
+Jhwk
Go back... Problems were reported with the beta as soon as it came out. At least as it related to caching. Quote Link to comment
+ejnewman
This is pretty much the whole reason they release a beta, to find problems before the final version. Anyone who installs a beta version of anything should expect it to be buggy. Quote Link to comment
