lordelph
Thanks to pieces_of_8, I took an Anglia News crew out geocaching a few weeks ago, and the segment aired today. They did a rather good job of it I think. Should bring a few newbies into the fold, my wife has already been stopped in the school playground by strangers wanting more information! Watch online Downloadable video here (12MB) Yes I did my own cache, but I didn't want to risk a DNF! Quote Link to comment
daytribe
Excellent work Lordelph. Anglia did do well didn't they. Quote Link to comment
The Golem
I'd like to watch it but the old ball and chain is moaning that she can't hear Big Brother! Quote Link to comment
Nellies Knackers
It didn't look that realistic though, no waist deep swamp, no neck high gorse, no nettles or brambles, no being on the wrong side of a river, no mud in sight and not once did you go headlong down a big slope. Call that cacheing! Edit to add: Apart from that it was a great bit of publicity very well done. Edited June 21, 2006 by Nellies Knackers Quote Link to comment
GAZ
Well done, looked good to me.....even the presenters had good things to say about it. That kind of portayal can only be good for the geocaching in general. Gaz Quote Link to comment
Bear and Ragged
Cheat! It's a multi -you never worked out the clues! Excellent work on the programme though. Well done! G Quote Link to comment
currykev
NICE 1 Sir..I thought it a good "Quick Guide" to our infatuation. Now thats one cache that'll be muggled very soon,I'm sure. Edited June 21, 2006 by currykev Quote Link to comment
lordelph
I popped up the cache the night before to ensure it was well stocked and found it had been completed cleaned out - no swaps at all, even the pencil sharpener for the log book had gone. Thankfully, the log book was still there. So it's probably already had some unwanted attention and I'll most likely archive it once I've placed a replacement cache. However, through the magic of television, the featured spot isn't actually the real hide, it was just a bit easier to film there Quote Link to comment
currykev
However, through the magic of television, the featured spot isn't actually the real hide, it was just a bit easier to film there smile.gif And I thought the cache had a hidden camera to film your daughter's find. So it's probably already had some unwanted attention and I'll most likely archive it once I've placed a replacement cache. If you archive it that means you have 0 (zero) hidden caches.....Don't do it!! Edited June 21, 2006 by currykev Quote Link to comment
Alibags
Very good. I am not unhappy to be represented by such a positive little vid. A question - why do all geocaching vids feature comedy speeded up searching and heroic music. It must be a television convention, or something? Quote Link to comment
currykev
A question - why do all geocaching vids feature comedy speeded up searching and heroic music. You obviously haven't seen me looking for caches....And that music is great on my ipod as I search through the forest of nettles. Edited June 21, 2006 by currykev Quote Link to comment

lordelph
Apparently you can order DVDs from Anglia for items like this, so I'll get a copy - both to put a higher quality version online and to embarrass my two girls in later life.... Quote Link to comment
Simply Paul
Excellent stuff. Liked the little montage bit in the middle when the music goes a bit Indiana Jones. Very well put together and clearly explained while making the point that it's a fun pastime. Well done Elphs! Quote Link to comment
