+Ernmark Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 ...seems like every tri-station I've run across lately is tilted “to one degree or another”. Submitted for your approval: JV4198 Would this be “FOUND GOOD” or “FOUND POOR” ? - E Quote
mloser Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 That is definitely Found Poor. If the reference marks remain and are in good condition the horizontal position can be reestablished based on the RMs. Assuming the underground mark remains the monument could be removed and reestablished based on that also. I seriously doubt anyone would bother doing either though. Quote
Bill93 Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I agree completely with mloser. In a log to NGS select Poor and in the notes mention tilt of 20 degrees or whatever you estimate it to be. Quote
+Ernmark Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 thanks - that's kind of what I figured - most of the tilted ones I've run across have been tilted a little more than this one and thus more obvious. I think I'm going to have to throw a level & protractor in the trunk w/ the rest of the benchmarking tools ! You know, after a while your trunk starts to look like a mobile CSI lab Quote
