QuigleyJones
No idea Garmin maps cant be used on magellan so I asume you mean on the PC. Might also look into the Etopo maps. Quote Link to comment

Bit of a toss up: Magellan is better with the forest service roads and topo map, but Garmin is better when it comes to the mountain names and water feature names. Quote Link to comment
+Team K1W1
I think the actual topo data is from the same source DMTI, they just present it differently. I have a Lowrance with MapCreate Topo Canada - great maps. What areas are you interested in? Quote Link to comment

I am mainly interested in the thompson, Caribou area i guess central B.C. two of my friends just purchased Garmins and it looked to us like the magellan topo was more detailed whith back roads and small lake names. I think one of my friends will be returning his map 60 csx for an eXplorist, Im quite happy with the topo for my 500. We were just curious to see if any one else had any thoughts on this, thanks.
