+TMM-Sarah Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 (edited) We've been thinking that as we are unable to attend any of the camping events during the summer due to prior arrangements we might organise one of our own in October, but as we are relatively new we were unsure how well it would be received. Would people camp in October? Maybe looking at Ringwood, near the New Forest. Let us know what you think. Gareth and Sarah Edited June 10, 2006 by The Morgan Mob Quote
+Simply Paul Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Could be chilly, but I've been to two camping events at the end of October (Halloween related) and while I didn't camp myself as they were both quite local, I didn't hear any 'too cold' feedback. Good luck if you go ahead with it Quote
+The Hokesters Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Having just returned from Carry on Camping 2006 I think we have 'The Bug' - put us down as possibly maybe. Quote
+The Hancock Clan Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 If I can have electric hook up and use my electric heater/ electric blanket and anything that may keep us the slightest bit warm then yeah we would come Quote
+The Great Redmondo Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Sounds good to us but we would have to be wimps and bring the caravan. Can make most weekends in Oct apart from 6th - 8th (Murphy’s law says that'll be the same weekend). Quote
+Stuey Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Possibly... although annual leave is getting a bit tight at the moment. I too have a heater for the tent, so as long as there is a hookup, the temperature needn't be a problem. We'll see! Cheers!!! Quote
Icarus. Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Might be possible. Although I've not got a heater, but if global warming carries on the way it is we won't need tents! Quote
+BikerKats Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I have camped in October and been very cold, so we probably wouldn't attend a camping event in October, even though we love camping in the summer. We might attend as day visitors though as we have friends who live near Southampton. Ringwood is a lot nearer to us than Derbyshire and we haven't done much caching in that area. Quote
+currykev Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 As long as they sort out the showers this time.I almost caught a cold I did!!!! http://www.uta.fi/~tero.mamia/mylife/kuvat/life/avanto.jpg Quote
+4 Badgers Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 We have rellies in Bournemouth and Blandford so could make it as 'day members' (too wimpy to camp in October!!!) (At least Badger #1 - that's me - is!) Quote
+Captain Gore-tex Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 well why not put me the corporal and K9 down Quote
The Royles Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 We would be interested (motorhomes have great heaters ) Quote
+purple_pineapple Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 we'd be up for it (weekends only - MrsPP is a teacher). No electic hook up required, as we're not girly wimps! More to the point, I have a 4+ season sleeping bag, and even Dartmoor in January hasn't defeated that! (although it did defeat the water bottle, which froze solid...) Quote
+alanann&sparky Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 We'd be there - definately as day cachers or if we get a new tent as campers Quote
+Mad H@ter Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Depending on dates the Phillimore's will be their Quote
DaBeEm Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 We should be able to make it, even if only as day visitors Quote
+Windsocker Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 This will be a busmans holiday for me but as I close my camping park in September i'll hope to be there Quote

+rutson Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Unfortunatly, not in a position to organise anything at the moment unless you happen to have a crystall ball handy, looks like you'll have to do it, anyroadup, you're nearer Quote
+Windsocker Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Hmmm..... camping park..... Dublin.... now THERE's an idea hehe i have taught of it before but didn't think i'd get many takers due to the location I'm a bit far outside the city Quote
+CrazyL200 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Hmmm..... camping park..... Dublin.... now THERE's an idea hehe i have taught of it before but didn't think i'd get many takers due to the location I'm a bit far outside the city Now then, Steve, what are you waiting for ............... how about a beach party - you've got enough sand in front of the campsite for a bit of a do ................... +BareClawz Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Having missed CoC I am still up for a camping event and as my tipi has a chiminea then heating is no problem. BareClawz Quote
