+Totem Clan Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 So you pick yourself up before the hunt, but how do you bring it back down after the hunt? Or do you just keep pounding the caffiene till you crash? BTW my wife makes one hell of a margarita? A GOOD beer is nice too. Quote
+briansnat Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Its usually a beer or glass of wine with dinner, but these days its tea or selzer after dinnertime. The days of me knocking off a six pack, a few glasses of Jameson, or bottle of wine in the evening are over. Not good for the waist line or liver. Quote

Yeah, but once your liver is gone you don't have to worry about that any more. Quote
+Mule Ears Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 After the tough Friday hike, it's usually a vodka Martini, straight up with two giant olives. Takes the sting out of the knees. Quote
+Team_Talisman Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 On a good caching day, Bloody Marys work fine replenish body with vitamins and minerals from the tomato juice and salt also..... On a no caching day nitcap is a couple beers On a DNF day its Jack and Coke Quote
bogleman Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Granny Clampet has shared some of her rumatiz medicine. Straightens out the kinks pretty quick. I'll have a 3-fingered brownie every now and then. Quote

+the hermit crabs Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 If I'm still sweating: diet mountain dew. Otherwise: hot chocolate. Quote
+Drgnsrealm Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 On a cool/warm day of caching- A nice ice cold glass of milk, followed quickly by a Snickers candy bar. On a hot day of caching- I find a DQ or ice cream shop and order a chocolate shake, and a burger. And I'm just waiting for the new Steak-n-Shake to open here so I have any excuse to go by there for a chili-3-ways, steak burger with onion and large fries. I'll top that off with a real Cherry Coke. Followed closely by a much needed nap. Quote
+The Geocache Hunter Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Sonics!! Any one of thier Cream Pie Shakes. Quote
+norsehawk Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 I just got to try the creamslushes at sonic a few days ago, sadly there are no sonics within 10 miles of my house. But, the first thing I do when I get home after a day of geocaching is a nice cool shower. wash off the grime, then relax and unwind. Quote
+BadAndy Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 It depends on if I visit the forums after caching. If I do, I break out my ultracool Kealia shotglass and let er rip. If I refrain from the forums, just about anything winds me down. Quote
+Driver Carries Cache Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Wine! (One of the perks of a weekend winery job) Lucky for me, most of what we make is sparking wine (champagne-style wine) so a couple glasses of bubbly always do the trick. Mike Quote
+oldsoldier Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 3 to 1 ratio of jamesons & water. On ice. Thats my sunday evening drink. Friday & saturdays, I'll be at the local pub with the lads. Jamesons gets me ready for the workweek. Quote

+oldsoldier Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Any alcohol, pure, makes me wanna drink it fast. I create the illusion of a sipping drink by putting it into a larger glass, adding a little water, and some ice. I guess its psychological. Quote
bogleman Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 3 fingers of Wild Turkey 101, 4 cubes of ice, a nice camp fire, cards with firends. Now that is my idea of a nightcap. Quote
+Vinny & Sue Team Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 So you pick yourself up before the hunt, but how do you bring it back down after the hunt? Or do you just keep pounding the caffiene till you crash? BTW my wife makes one hell of a margarita? A GOOD beer is nice too. Oh. . . I guess my life is very boring! I never touch caffeine (the bitter alkaloid known as C8H10N4O2) in any form (not even in chocolate) and well, as for alcohol, my idea of heavy drinking consists of drinking six ounces of an unpasteurized organic microbrew beer once a week! About the only liquids which I ever consume are mountain well water, mountain spring water, raw cow or goat milk, raw cow cream, and maybe a bit of raw veggie juice once in a while. Sigh. I am boring. Oh, and I do drink some sewage-laden Baltimore Harbor (aka Cheaspeake Bay) water when I am out there on a small boat and the 3-foot waves start to break over the bow of my boat every nine seconds! That is the best beverage of all! Quote
+smilingsteeles Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 (edited) PREFERRED: A nice cold six pack of Amberbock, some nachos and cheese and a really great movie. REALITY:Make dinner, clean up after dinner, finish up the laundry, get all three kids bathed and dressed for bed and then remember I forgot to eat dinner. Edited June 7, 2006 by smilingsteeles Quote

+JMBIndy Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Since I'm not a drinker and caffeine doesn't do a thing for me, I wind down by settling at my PC shortly before bedtime, posting my finds or DNFs and then updating GSAK, my GPS and PDA, when necessary. I browse the forums for a little while, then head off to bed, hoping to dream the locations of the DNFs... Quote
darwinmay Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 (edited) Usually nothing. I'll stay up until I feel reeeeeeally tired (1 to 2 in the morning) then fall asleep. That's often necessary because after a long day of caching, I fall asleep in the car. Edited June 7, 2006 by BlueNinja Quote
