+TEAM 360 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Treasure Hunters I was sitting in the theater yesterday, watching X3, and a preview for this came on... I don't know if they will be using GPS units or not, but it looks pretty interesting! I wonder if any of these 'treasures' are going to be here in the U.S., or if the whole thing has already been completely filmed and done with??? Quote
+SgtSue Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 We saw this last year sometime and joked about the team we could put together, but we were not in a position where the proposed team could get away for several months. My understanding is it has already been filmed, but there is an on line option where the viewer can participate and win some money. I plan to watch it and see how good it is. I’ll have to hook my vcr up and record it to work on the mystery, but if my record of success with puzzle caches continues I won’t have much of a chance. Quote
+mcl143 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I agree, this sounds like it is pre-recorded. However, the online game sounds interesting. It would be nice to be able to use our caching knowlege/equipment to win some $$$. Quote
magellan315 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Its tougher than it looks, this is adventure racing. Even taking into account that it will be toned down beaucse these folks are all amateurs its very physically demanding and requires mental discipline. Quote
+Lasagna Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I got the impression it was kind of a mix of "The Amazing Race" with an intellectual component thrown in (if you're an Amazing Race fan, you know that you don't necessarily have to be too smart to win -- but you will have to be able to take on some serious physical challenges if you want to get to the finish line). Supposedly this keeps the physical component but adds some hard core puzzle solving as well. Quote

It has to be prerecorded, you can't have previews if it hasn't been prerecorded. You also can't get weeks worth of stuff in an hour every Monday. Quote
+Kacky Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 (edited) Agreed. These shows are filmed 3 months ahead of air time, minimum. ETA I just looked at the site. Waifs, models and pumpkin heads. Ho hum. REAL PEOPLE, please!!! Edited May 31, 2006 by Kacky Quote
+Team LaLonde Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 We can't even line up the right lamp posts at the mall to solve a puzzle cache. It's staggering to think what could happen if we were turned loose on a world-wide hunt. Quote
