GoBolts!
Hi, I will be in Washington DC for 17 Days (starting on May 26th) ...the First 10 Days I will be staying at the Renaissance Hotel next to the convention center. The last 7 days I will have a rental car and will be caching all over the East. I would like to know if any one has bookmarked or has a list of METRO accessible caches? Or if any one has the coords for all of the metro stops? Thanks for your help and if you ever vist the San Diego area...let me know (the San Diego area cachers are always willing to adopt out of town cachers and show them a good time). PS Any good events going on Between May 26th and June 10th? Quote Link to comment
JPatton
Here is a bookmark list of caches near the Metro stops I started a few months ago. http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.a...80-ebdbdf05e04c Most of them are within about a mile of a Metro stop. I haven't checked it lately, so some of the caches may be archived by now. The Maryland Geocaching Society is having a picnic on June 4th at Cunningham Falls State Park, which is about 45 miles north of DC. You are more than welcome to attend. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...80-a2ce0e2eec84 Quote Link to comment
Velvet
I can't help out with specific caches, since I didn't discover the sport until after I moved (darn-it), but Metro was my main transportation for 5+ years...don't forget the buses too! You can get a combo pass that lets you use both the subway & bus system on one card, and you can cover more ground in and around the city that way. Good luck, and you'll have a great time, DC's beautiful this time of year! Quote Link to comment
GoBolts!
Thanks for your help I love DC I Spent the summer of 2004 living @ American University and McLean, VA. That was before I started caching. I was into hiking and highpointing then...had a lot of fun road trips....hit a lot of states. Quote Link to comment

Velvet
NICE, lol.......did they teach you the laundry trick, or was that little glitch fixed by the time you got there? (When I was there you could use Metrocards or anything else with a magnetic strip to do laundry between 2-4 am, lol) Quote Link to comment
kelly@9
I've been meaning to do up a good list of Metro-accessible caches, but haven't quite gotten to it yet... I mention a few in this other thread, and a few more in my later posts in the same thread. Quote Link to comment
