Cool.

Now, could you just list the the denominations of money in Monopoly and how many of each you receive right at the beginning. *

* I thought this was a great question. As I type it I wonder if it has changed with all these different types of Monopoly available, so what I am after is the traditional game, the one with Old Kent Road, £60 and Mayfair £400.

I memorised this 35 years ago:

500 x 2

100 x 4

50 x 1

20 x 1

10 x 2

5 x 1

1 x 5

Total 1500

According to a - possibly mentally unstable - character created by Messrs. R. Davies and R. Hodgson, what was the smallest amount of money with which one could successfully purchase a packet of cigarettes in 1974?

Correct... these days you can't get a single cigarette for that, I believe.

Confirmation here.

Congrats also to DogdyDaveD who mailed me the reply because he didn't have write access to the forum (not sure how that can happen!), but I didn't check my mails until two minutes ago, so the Pig has it.

OK, I suggest Black Pig does the next question, and next time I get one right, I'll hand my turn over to you. :)

Heartbreak Hotel?

Prepares to run for cover in case it's an embarrassingly bad guess... :) I'm not a proper fan of any of them, although I like the odd song from all of them :( .

Ok then punters, eyes down. Staying on the music theme, what building connects The Eagles, Elvis & Chris Isaak, easy peasy.

PS who's round is it

You've been watching too much Big Brother and Suzie's video's

I'm going for a Hotel

Chris Izaak - Blue Hotel - remade by HIM with our Big Brother starlet

Eagles - Hotel California

Elvis Aaron Presley - Heartbreak Hotel

OK, continuing on movies... in my favourite film:

Blush.

Right - you are walking home from the pub one night and there is a very bright white planet in the sky. You check your watch, the sun set 4 hours ago. Which planet is it?

BIT nervous about this question, we'll see how it goes.

No - I learnt this recently - Venus sets about 3 hours after the sun, so the planet I've always thought was Venus turned out to be...

The easy way to identify which is which is to remember that Venus is between us and the Sun, whereas Jupiter is outside our orbit. Therefore, look in the direction of the sun's position below the horizon (it approaches due North at 15° per hour) and if the bright planet you're trying to identify is within your field of view then it must be Venus and not Jupiter. Jupiter will be behind you.

mumberk 1994?

stiplock 1977?

Lychee 1989?

One of those has to be right! :drama:

Nope but I believe Shoemaker-Levy 9 would be. The Shoemaker bit was easy as they were a very famous couple (Eugene is now dead but Corolyn lives on) and was able to drag the Levy bit out of deep memory (if I'm right he's a prolific amateur comet hunter) but the 9 took a visit to the pile of national Geographics in the family reading room. :ninja:
