Where Do You Dispose Of Your Cito 'collection'?

Recommended Posts

My wife and I took two full bags of trash out of the woods at a cache last weekend. There weren't any trash cans around so the bags went into the trunk and then I put them in the dumpster at work. Woundn't it be nice if there was a network of businesses who would let you dispose of the waste like that so you didn't have to carry it with you all the time?

What does everyone else do?

If I'm going solo or with a friend or two we usually limit our picking up to a couple plastic grocery bags & dump it with the household trash unless theres a trashcan or dumpster, at or near the site. In eastern Maine thats rare..

If it's an event then arrangements are usually made with the park maintenance, town crew or state DOT folks to haul off a big pile.

I'm arranging the KSLS CITO at the Kansas-Nebraska border, June 10. I called city hall for the closest town (Mahaska, one mile south and one mile east) and told them of what the CITO deal is all about. They thought it was pretty cool, and they told me which city dumpster to use where everyone can drop off their bags.

I put tables on my lawn, place all the CITO "Items" on them, and put up a Yard Sale sign, then go Geocaching, when I come home it's all gone, and theres a few bucks in the coffee can

True story.

I had a Bicycle that I place at the sidewalk with a FREE sign on it, it sat there for 4 days. Then I put a $25.00 sign on it, it was gone in the morning.
