Happy Humphrey
Just in case someone is already planning to use this technique to enhance their friends' numbers; La Palma ...can we agree to NOT start doing this in the UK? (Read the logs). Or is it already common practice? HH Quote Link to comment
adrianjohn
This kind of thing has already raised some steam in the General Geocaching Forums, pocket caches etc. along with multiple logs on event caches by the same user, and also the logging of coins and TB's from lists at events. While I try to understand these practices, they are not for me and rather degrade the whole geocaching thing altogether. Quote Link to comment
Simply Paul
I have no idea what a 'pocket cache' is. Can anyone cast some light? I can see it's an old physical cache which got archived, but how it ended up being 'found' by dozens of folks at an event. Most odd. Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
Keeping in the tradition of other caching events, I am sure there will be plenty of Pocket Caches...in which you will have to walk up to fellow cachers and ask them "Is that a cache in your Pocket......... Quote Link to comment
Simply Paul
And the point of that is...? Thanks BD. Where's that quote from? I didn't see it on the page linked to above. Quote Link to comment

marinor
Does one actually have to go to that event to log it? or can I just stay in kuwait and keep typing found it logs and then waiting to see how many get deleted? gotta be thousands out there that won't delete my logs, even at 10% success rate, doing all of UK would give me a 1000, and the states many thousands more, cacher of the decade here I come.... what a load of (place your own type of dung here) this is not what caching is about.... stay safe Bill Quote Link to comment
Pengy&Tigger
A pocket cache is exactly what it says on the tin. It's a cache in someone's pocket. Folks sign the log, and then the owner nominates one of their archived caches to hold the logs. I only know this because we have actually been to a camping event with the folks involved in HHs post. It's common practice in Florida. T Edited May 12, 2006 by Pengy&Tigger Quote Link to comment
HazelS
I'm very puzzled by it... Very strange, even given Tigger's explaination... that's not what caching is in my view... no wonder those Yanks have so many finds under their belts! Quote Link to comment
KiwiGary
Seems pointless to me, maybe archived caches shouldn't be able to be logged? Wouldn't that stop this practice? See ya...Gary Edited May 12, 2006 by KiwiGary Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
oops, wrong thread. Edited May 12, 2006 by BlueDeuce Quote Link to comment
