Converting From Routes To Tracks (garmin)

Is there a simple (read free) way to convert a garmin mapsource route to a track? I could find tons of info on going the other way but very little and nothing that worked for me to go from a route/waypoints to a track.

 

I don't mind having several routes, but the part I don't like is having 1000 waypoints to go with them.

USAPhotoMaps (http://jdmcox.com) will do that. Select 'Route' under the 'GPS' menu and then 'Convert to track.'

If total accuracy is not an issue and you have a steady hand on the mouse you can display your route on Mapsource and then use the track draw tool to trace the route and create your track. Kind of crude but does the job in a pinch.
