+imfrog2002
I have my gramin eTrex Legend GPS plugged into my computer, and I read that one of those ports on the cable was for power, but it's still draining my battery according to the battery meter, is this supposed to happen, or what? +Red90
To get power you need a combination power and data cable. The normal data cable that ships with the unit does not provide power. Quote Link to comment
+imfrog2002
Oh, even though the book says that it has a power thing? Weird. Oh well, at least I have rechargable batteries for it. Quote Link to comment
+Polar B's
easier way to tell if the cable is both a tranfer cable and a power cable is ther number of contact on it. If it is both it will have four contacts, two (the outside ones) if it a power only, and 3 if it's a data transfer only. Edited May 10, 2006 by Polar B's Quote Link to comment
