Cito In Winnipeg

Recommended Posts

Our CITO event started as a Pancake breakfast so all the cachers could chat, exchange stories, geocoins, etc. Afterwards, we were divited up into four teams and sent to 4 locations where new caches were hidden (although not posted on geocaching.com yet)

Once there, we searched for the cache, then as a team cleaned up the area where we were. We were awarded 10 points for each black garbage bag filled. Once the whole team agreed that the area was clean enough, we were allowed to move onto the other 3 remaining cache areas to find the caches. There was also a way of earning other bonus points by finding little wires with your team's colour on a nail on a tree near the cache site.

After the time limit (2 hours) was up, we met at a park for a tailgate party and to calculate which team had the most points. Between the 4 teams we cleaned up 4 of the dirtiest areas in our city and cleared 68 black garbage bags, and many larger items that didn't fit in the bags such as scrap metal, tires, etc.
