dave and jaime
Is there a difference between a waypoint and a point of interest ? Can someone please explain ? not really. however most gps manufacturers refer to pois as waypoints that cannot be erased from the gps. so, essentially waypoints are user entered/erasable pois and pois are permanant waypoints entered into the firmware by the manufacturer. having said that it is possible with some advanced skills, or software, to replace the hard coded pois with user points. it is also often possible to replace the pois of an 'landbased' gps with the 'marine' poi database for the same unit. +Lumpy_The_Great
Is there a difference between a waypoint and a point of interest ? Can someone please explain ? In my Magellan manual it states that Waypoints and POI's are the same thing and says that the two terms may be used interchangably. Quote Link to comment
