+bhodisatva Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I'v done all the ground and legwork for a two part cache, but am having difficulty (in my own mind) trying to sort out the listings. Any help or advice on how to tackle it would be gratefully received. Info.. I want to place a multi-part (3 virtuals and a micro) cache leading to a lock n lock box. I have got the waypoints for the 3 virtuals that need to be visited in order to get the figures for the final cache. However, the twist is that i also want to place a micro cache (with it's own waypoint and log on gc.com) that must be visited in order to get the "key" to crack the coordinates code for the traditional cache. How best would i go about it?. Quote
+Phil and Ruth Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I think this should be listed as two distinct caches. One, as a traditional cache which is your Micro. This would contain it's own log book plus the "key" for the second cache - this is then loggable on GC.com as a cache in it's own right. The second cache would probably be a Mystery (i.e. you need to solve a puzzle or find another cache before-hand) which consist of the 3 virtuals and then the your lok-n-lok box. Just my thoughts! +slimey Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 If you want the micro to be seperately loggable, then just create it as a regular cache. Then, in the description for your multi say that you have to have found the other cache first in order to decode the clues. I don't see a problem with that, and I've seen other caches that do something similar. S Quote

+bhodisatva Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 Next question . I now have the three sets of coordinates for the "virtual" parts of the cache to be visited to grab the info required to complete, should i just post the coords in with the questions on the log page or should i now make use of the "additional waypoints" function for them ?. +HazelS Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 a certain cheshire cacher did a series ver similar... with locakable boxes etc, and he stated that you had to have visited one cache in order to have done the other. Quote

That would be exactly what the additional waypoints function would be for. However, since some folks don't download all the waypoints to their GPSr, I would also include them in the listing writeup.
