Gps Coordinates And Address

Hello All

 

Family and I just completed our first 2 finds yesterday and we are really new to the sport. We had a great time with our 2 younger daughters. My questions is

 

Is there a web site that you can enter the address and receive the long and lat coordinates for that address ?

 

For example.. If you were traveling out of state and were going to a hotel. Is there a web site you could enter the address of the hotel and get the coordinates to enter into your gps ? Thanks for thehelp

I use this site Geocoder, but it only

work for US addresses. I know there is a site that combines serveral different

converters but can't find it right now.

My favorite is TravelGIS. If you do a google search for Geocoding, you'll find more.

You will notice that most geocode sites do NOT give you the coordinates in the format used by geocaching.com

 

Once you get the coordinates you can easily convert them using the program located here: Fizzymagic's GeoCalc
