+Gralorn
Good evening, I purchased my Etrex Legend over a year ago and it only accepts 500 caches, how can I make it accept the 1000 that everyone says that it can hold. Is there an upgrade somewhere? Thanks in anticipation. Quote Link to comment
+HazelS
mine only hols 500 and I got it at Xmas! Quote Link to comment
+tteggod trackers
i was under the impression from the specification on garmin.com that they hold 1000. maybe they are wrong, i update my software through the garmin site but i don't think this increases the waypoint memory.i will soon be loading lots of waypoints so i will see when "computer says "no"" Quote Link to comment
+Orchards Finest
Odd! Our etrex legend, which is two years old, holds 1000 waypoints. Edited to add Are you sure you have an etrex legend (monochrome). The newer etrex legend C (colour) appears to only hold 500 waypoints. Edited April 25, 2006 by Orchards Finest Quote Link to comment

Remote Part
Software version 3.10 increased the number of waypoints that can be stored, as well as some other improvements. Download the latest version (3.70) here: http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=25 Or use the WebUpdater thing which should get the latest version automatically: http://www.garmin.com/products/webupdater/ Quote Link to comment
+civilised
Graham - are you planning some sort of extended caching holiday ? Surely 500 waypoints are enough for anyone - even the most incorrigible FTF hunter civilised Quote Link to comment

We may see each cache with 3 or 4 waypoints each. See ya...Gary Quote Link to comment

+The HERB5
There's only one Legend round here. SimplyPaul.... Quote Link to comment
+Gralorn
Civilised, your dead right, why do I need 1000 caches? I don't its just that it should! according to others. Its taken me a year to clock up 331 caches so I really do not need all those on the Legend. Will try the updates though - because I can. Off to try Suffolk out soon, there's not a thousand there that's for sure. So with my Legend Monochrome 1 year old I'll try my best to get a few. Thanks......... Quote Link to comment
+rutson
You are sure it's not the GSAK setting in the GPS dialog? Quote Link to comment
+Alibags
Hang on! How come the Leg End can store 1000 waypoints and the Vista cannot? Unfair!!!! Quote Link to comment
