+CiscoHiker
I have a Garmin 60CSx and a Garmin Vista. Maybe a stupid question but how do I re-set the how waypoints are numbered? Here is the scenario. I mark a waypoint and save it as 001. Then later I change the name of waypoint 001 or delete waypoint 001. The next time I mark a waypoint it starts at 002 and so on (even though no waypoint named 001 exists). I think my Vista is up to 014 or so and my 60CSx is up to 004. More of an asthetics issue, but would be nice to be able to re-set these to start at 001 again. Any way to do that? Thanks. Quote Link to comment

Manually set the name of the next waypoint you create to "001" and then the next one will be assigned "002" and count up from there - assuming that you've cleared out some waypoints so those numbers are available again. +CiscoHiker
Thank Peter changing it to 001 worked. I also tried to do 000 but that didnt change the sequence. Quote Link to comment
Garmin8888
Deleted waypoint 001 goes back to 001 if deleted before one gets to 002! To get back to 001 ....only way is to d/l from Mapsource again Quote Link to comment

SandyGarrity
Really this is a software type question? I suspect there is a wee object in the GPS that says the next default waypoint is X. From a computing point of view there is no easy way of saying " Hey my WP 001 has been deleted/renamed lets go and use that again". Quote Link to comment
