You are correct, I mispoke in the article. I correctly stated that South Dakota WAS the last state to have a cache placed in it. However, the date was March 3, 2001, not 2003. The name of the cache was SD #1. The eighth finder discovered it in January 2002. After that the cache went missing and the placer retired it. Supposedly, it still can be found in the archives of geocaching.com. Quote Link to comment
