+Kealia
Lots of people (inlcuding myself) like to update maps with the areas in which we've cached like this: California counties: US states: <image not allowed as it's a dynamic URL that creates it> Here are the links to create these (there are many others): CA Counties US Map Is there any thought on a way to automate this using the "my finds" PQ or another method? Right now it requires us to have a running list (or memory). Just a thought - Link to comment
Moun10Bike
I use a semi-automated technique with GIS software. I generate my file of finds, then do a join between those points and the counties/states/countries of interest. I then have the map color any of the regions that contain one or more finds. +webscouter.
What GIS software do you use Moun10Bike? Link to comment
+sbell111
I think that you can do this with MapPoint pretty easily. I keep intending to play around with it, but haven't done it, yet. Edited April 17, 2006 by sbell111 Link to comment
Moun10Bike
What GIS software do you use Moun10Bike? ESRI's ArcGIS (specifically ArcMap). It is a pretty expensive package unless you have access to it through work or school, though. Link to comment
+Xangxa
Is there any thought on a way to automate this using the "my finds" PQ or another method? GSAK macros are excellent for automating many of these type tasks. I use GSAK to create cache maps like this: I could easily limit it to just finds. The mapping software I used is the inexpensive Microsoft Streets & Trips. Link to comment
