+Vinny & Sue Team Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Can anyone find out if there has been a surge in new members since the CBS story on Caching aired? I alreay see a couple of posts crediting the story with their signup. My guess is that any spike in memberships will show up gradually over the two months following the show's airing, as it can take time to acquire a GPSr, learn how to use it, and then go joint the site, find a cache lisiting on the site, and go hunt a cache; this may take one day for some folks and one month or longer for others. Even though some folks may join the site first, I still suspect that any increase in memberships will be gradual. Quote
+briansnat Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Jeremy had a post showing a huge spike in website visits just after the piece aired. I'm sure that also lead to many new people registering with the site so they can see what caches are available in their area. I know the first thing I did when I heard about this sport was to go to this site and type in my zipcode to see if there were any caches nearby. Quote

+El Diablo Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Loos like there were about 10,000 new members in the last 7 days. How many become active cachers is the real question. El Diablo Quote
