The "Regions", such as Strathclyde and Lothian, were abolished in the 1990s. The old "Shires", such as Edinburghshire, Fifeshire and Linlithgowshire, were an artifact of the Anglicisation process of the 19th century and were abolished long ago. The county boundaries, or "council areas" as they are known in the jargon of Scottie Exec newspeak, are clearly marked on modern OS maps, such as Streetmap.Co.UK, and are labelled in a sloping capitals typeface. If he can't do North Lanarkshire, I'll take it on as the triple point of the county boundaries of N.Lanark/Falkirk/West Lothian is not far from Forester Towers and I'd like to find a way to ride there from home to bag a cache or two on horseback. I'd be very happy to put one in the eye of Bush/Cheney's oil business by travelling green on a semi-long-distance caching jaunt. A horse's exhaust product seems appropriate for Messrs Bush & co. +Us 4 and Jess Posted April 22, 2006 Author Share Posted April 22, 2006 thanks to all the welsh cachers who have taken several counties, i really appreciate it if you have taken a few counties im not fussed if the book does not get to each of the counties, all i would like is a bit of info what the county is famous for and a picture or two for example what i have done for durham is a bit of a write up and i have printed 3 photographs from the internet onto paper and glued them under the write up, this is all i would like for all the counties if you have taken several counties once the book comes to you please keep it until you have completed all the counties you have added your name to, i would not expect you to do one county and send it on as this would cost too much in postage. i will take the 3 yorkshire counties too, i thought these would have gone easily if any of the scottish cachers or english cachers could take a county or two more i would appreciate thanks to everyone for your help mandy Quote Link to comment
