Seasoned Warrior
What is the recommended optimal size for photos. I have uploaded photos and notice that the aspect ratio changes if raw photos are uploaded when the system resizes the photo to fit the page. The comments say to resize the photo before uploading but they don't give the optimum size: does anyone know??? Edited April 8, 2006 by Seasoned Warrior Link to comment
az_pistolero
I resize mine to around 700 pixels by <whatever the aspect ratio computes> before uploading. Some sites like 640 pixels max height or width. My PS plugins are much better at down-sizing than GC/WM algorithms, IMHO. Link to comment
Rose Red
I resize my digital photos to 500/375. I was tired of having the photos being rejected for a waymark so I devised those numbers. I have not tried to go higher. Link to comment
Rose Red
I tried 600/450 this afternoon. I worked fine. Link to comment
Shorelander
I'm guessing it's the same as at geocaching.com. Here are their guidelines - funny they don't have them here. * If your original image is under 125k or 600 pixels wide, the largest image will not be resized.* It doesn't do the best resizing job. Editing your own larger image is preferable. * Final images will always be converted to jpg. Link to comment
