+Maingray
I've used it for years as an alternative to "loot", as in the pirates' swag. From dictionary.com: 1. 1. An ornamental drapery or curtain draped in a curve between two points. 2. An ornamental festoon of flowers or fruit. 3. A carving or plaster molding of such an ornament. 2. Slang. Stolen property; loot. 3. Australian. The pack or bundle containing the personal belongings of a swagman. 4. Slang. Herbal tea in a plastic sandwich bag sold as marijuana to an unsuspecting customer. +BadAndy
Swag is the common stuff you might find or drop in a cache ie: mctoys, golf balls, keychains etc. If it's a personal sig item, it's called Mojo. Quote Link to comment

+Team MnMizzou
SWAG.... Stuff We All Get... a term that is used a lot as in SWAG bags... the handouts at events and whatnot. It's just kind of morphed into a bunch of different uses. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
SWAG.... Stuff We All Get... a term that is used a lot as in SWAG bags... the handouts at events and whatnot. It's just kind of morphed into a bunch of different uses. This comes up a lot. Actually swag is not an acronym for "stuff we all get". It is an old slang word for booty and dates to the early 1800's. In British thieves' slang swag was 'a thief's plunder or booty; a quantity of goods unlawfully acquired'. The term appears in Grose's 1811 Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue, where one of the definitions is 'any quantity of goods'. James Hardy Vaux, who was a convict in Australia, includes the term in the slang dictionary compiled in 1812 and published in his Memoirs in 1819: 'The Swag is a term used in speaking of any booty you have lately obtained'. In Australia the term swag was transferred from the quantity of goods acquired by a thief to the possessions carried by a traveller in the bush. +LDove
I heard it meant Swap With Another Geocacher = SWAG. I did not see "hootie" on the list which is what we refer to the cache when we find it, as in Mr. MagOO with the hootie! Quote Link to comment
