The Azores

I was stationed in the Azores from 84-87. That place is beautiful with all the caves and such. I was just thinking about it, and wondering if there was anyone out there Geocaching?

We're a couple of geocachers from Portugal, and yes, there are some active geocachers in Azores. One of them is actually creating a lot of caches in the island of São Jorge and Pico. Check it here:

Interesting subject. Truth is our first cache was created in Azores in May of 2001 and named Translant Chess Cache. The owner is an american dude, a navy fighter aviator, as you can check in his profile.

 

Anyway, although some of the caches in Azores were created by american military personel, others are owned by portuguese. Right now there is a teacher creating caches in the islands in a regular basis.
