I live in Washington. Caching, like motorcyle riding, is subject to the weather. As I tell people, if you don't go caching in the rain, you're not going caching.

Any outdoor activity in this part of the country requires going out with clothing for all conditions. I may start out in shorts but may end up in 3 layers by the time I get to the 2nd cache. A backpack with spare everything makes jumping into the truck and heading out easier on a moments notice.

I was caching today and it started raining, hey just a little sprinkle, no problem. Then bigger drops, I'll stand under this tree for a bit till it clears up. Then hail, well I'll start the half mile back to my van. Then when the thunder and lightning started and I was on a bridge, I started to get worried. Happy to report, I am now warm and dry and alive. Ready for my next caching adventure!
