Google Earth, Just Smaller

For all those that haven’t seen the wonders of Google Earth and caching, you are missing out! But, for those who have experienced seeing a cache (from 100m up) before finding it and planning your routes to miss the kilometre and uphill walks, there is something new available to bankrupt you further.

 

I have just seen Google Earth for the you smart phone Local for Moble BETA. All we need now is the Geocaching KML file to work with it and we will be sorted. It is available from the above URL and is about 100kb. The cost comes in when you download 1.5 MB of images at R2.00 a MB .

It seems technology has no bounds…. Now if that price would come down, and oh, perhaps a re-alignment of those satellites so we can start getting more detail coverage of SA instead of just a few selected blobs.

Cape Town seems to be just fine.

 

Does this work in SA? The road data is worthless for SA. Would be great to have those directions like US and EU have. I love google, they practically know everything about me.

Yes it does work here in SA. Though it has the same info as google maps and earth. So minimal roads and no real maps, but to waste time and money while browsing the world, it is GREAT!

 

Would be very cool for the US and UK since they are all mapped.
