Rating System?

I searched for this topic and found nothing. Is there a "rating system" for finders to rate others' cache hides? I thought I saw "rate this" the other day as I was entering a log, but now I don't see it anymore and don't see any ratings. Don't laugh too loud if I'm overlooking the obvious!

Some cachers add a Rate This Cache image or something similar from an outside source, which keeps track of any votes or visits.

 

There is no "official" geocaching.com rating system, however.

There is no ""rating system" for finders to rate others' cache hides" . Just write your comments in the log if you like the cache and if you didn't then SLTNLN and go on.

You could check out this site. You can create some html code there that you can past into your cache description. It is similar to web page counters that you create and paste.

The best rating system that the site has are the on-line logs from other users. Read through them and you may quickly determine if the cache is good or not.

Here's the thread that documents a lengthy discussion about a system. Jeremy himself said that it would be something he could see happening.

 

Of course most of the involvement in the thread from Jeremy was back around Thanksgiving of 2004, and then a little more around Memorial Day 2005.

 

Now it is almost St. Patrick's Day, 2006.

Yes, this is entirely true! While some few cachers will always leave a really short log entry, as that is just their style, most cachers, if a cache is really good or interesting, will leave a nice narrative of the adventure and their responses! In fact, such feedback is one of the reasons why we keep placing more caches!
