+ibycus
Just wondering if the next release of the Waymarking site will have 'adopt a waymark' functionality. Link to comment
+robert
my category has a 'transfer ownership' button on it. is the person around who currently has management rights on the category so they can transfer it to you? Link to comment
+ibycus
Actually I'm looking at the individual waymarks, not the category... Pretty sure the only 'transfer ownership' thing is for the category itself, and not the waymark... Link to comment
+robert
Gooooootcha. Nothing to see here Link to comment
+The Blue Quasar
There's a need for this already? Oh, please enlighten me how this can be possible. Can't the current Waymark owner just Archive it and then another person list a new one? Not in favour of adoption, just screws up history. The Blue Quasar Link to comment
+ibycus
Well. at least in the case where I'd like to see it, its not what you think. Basically I'm considering loading some canned data in to the off-leash category. As I didn't actually visit all these I really shouldn't own them. My feeling is that if the first person to visit the waymark would adopt it, and correct the details (accurate coordinates, all the other details), then that would be a good thing. This whole scheme then requires that the waymark be adoptable. Link to comment
Jeremy
No. This feature won't exist in the next release. I'll make sure it gets into the incremental releases, however. Link to comment

+ChapterhouseInc
yes, i feel that there will be a bartering system of waymarks and categories in the future...i 'own' TN, SC & KY historical markers, but am from GA. eventually someone that resides in those states will be the owner, if they are willing to 'trade' something that i feel is acceptable (ie: ill give you the TN category for 1) another category more to my liking 2) 'enough' waymarks to make it even) just my thoughts on the matter...
